AACC hot melt adhesives pass the following tests on a routine basis:

1.
3 cycles of:
2 hours at 158° F (70° C)
1 hour at room temperature (70°F/21°C)
2 hours at 20°F (minus 6.7°C)
2.
3+ cycles of:
2 hours at 122°F (50°C) and 100% relative humidity
1 hour at room temperature (70°F/21°C)
2 hours at 20°F (minus 6.7°C)
3.
205°F (96.1°C) for eight continuous hours. Initial check of samples after three hours.
4.
Water soak on raw board edge, laminated with paper on both sides. This test was created by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) and requires "No Delamination" after 24 hours of the raw board edge resting on top of a 2.5-inch thick sponge that is in 2 inches of water. While the KCMA test requires a 24-hour resistance to water, typically, AACC hot melt adhesive properly laminated, will hold for 5 to 6 days. AACC hot melt adhesives are water resistant, not water proof.

On a special test request basis, AACC hot melt adhesives typically pass the following tests:

1.
18 continuous days at 172°F (77.8°C)
2.
18 continuous days at 20°F (minus 6.7°C)
3.
18 continuous days alternating one day at 172°F (77.8°C) and one day at 20°F (minus 6.7°C)
In summary, the objective of these tests is to accelerate the age of the bond between paper and board in order to ensure quality to our customers.
